Estate Planning Overview for Planned and Major Gift Officers, Basic to Complex

12:00 Noon: Program Begins

Estate planning involves much more than drafting wills; it’s being able to allow a donor to think about their wealth, not just their cash. Dana Bennett, Esq., an accomplished attorney practicing law in Red Bank, N.J., will share some estate planning document basics, as well as more sophisticated estate planning concepts that many of our donors and potential donors are considering and using, and that all development professionals would benefit from knowing more about. Dana will shed light on what you need to know about estate planning to better serve your donors, as well as share what’s new in estate planning, thanks to some new laws on the books. Join us to learn why everyone needs an estate plan and what happens if one fails to plan. Be prepared and in the know about issues and laws that affect many of our donors when they are thinking about including our charities in their estate plans.
