Membership

Charitable gift planning is the process of cultivating, designing, facilitating, managing and stewarding gifts to charitable organizations. Membership in the Council is ideal for individuals whose work or interests include any aspect of this process.

Membership is important because charitable gift planning uses a variety of financial tools and techniques for giving and usually requires the assistance of multiple professional specialists. Joining the New Jersey Council of Charitable Gift Planners often increases the likelihood of giving success as we learn from, and collaborate with, our peers.

Standards of Practice

The New Jersey Council is a partner with the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners. Our members abide by National’s objectives, philosophies, policies and procedures including those set forth in the NACGP’s Model Standards of Practice for the Charitable Gift Planner. This high standard of conduct serves as a reference for individuals in day-to-day gift planning practice and as an important statement of our philosophical position on philanthropic planning. We recommend that new members read the Standards before joining.
